Upcoming changes regarding cash registers in Poland

2023 has begun and brought certain changes in terms of cash registers, especially about which types of cash registers can be found on the Polish market. More precisely, cash registers with a paper journal cannot be purchased in 2019. Cash registers with electronic copies are produced and could be found on the market until December 31, 2022. This means that it is no longer possible to buy this type of cash register, but of course, they can still be used until the fiscal memory is full, so there is no obligation to immediately switch to new online devices.

However, certain concessions are made in the form of the ability to purchase cash registers with an electronic copy, but only for specific purposes—for specific businesses—until the end of 2023.

In other words, the period of validity of confirmations of the fulfillment of functions, criteria, and technical conditions for cash registers with electronic copy recording has been extended until December 31, 2023, for special use—it's about cash registers used, for example, by taxi drivers, pharmacies, or placed in vending machines.

Therefore, from January 1, 2023, it is no longer possible to purchase cash registers with electronic copy recording, unless they are cash registers with a special purpose within the meaning of 7 Sec. 1 Point 2 of the regulation on cash registers.
