Highlight
A digitally advanced fiscalization model with real-time communication of data with the tax authority has been introduced starting in 2022.
Ghana
Fiscalization is mandatory for all VAT payers. Communication between businesses and the tax authority is conducted in real-time. Transaction data is sent to the tax authority through a network, facilitating efficient monitoring of sales and services provided to customers. To ensure accuracy and reliability, POS applications undergo certification and need to be integrated with the Ghana Revenue Authority's system. The GRA is the official tax authority responsible for overseeing fiscal obligations.
