What does the lottery code on the commercial document in Italy represent?

As we’ve stated before, new technical specifications for lottery code requirements have been published. The instant lottery requires the buyer to participate using the two-dimensional code on the commercial document-fiscal receipt. More precisely,  all commercial documents for an amount equal to or greater than 1 euro and paid entirely electronically must bear a two-dimensional code including all the information necessary for participation.

From a technical perspective, the lottery code has 8 characters. This information will be present only in cases where the subject has also chosen to participate in the deferred receipt lottery, communicating it to the operator. In all other cases, the field must be filled in with a space character, and the information will be added by the APP to allow participation in the lottery. In order to carry out checks on the validity of the commercial documents participating, in the instant lottery, it is also necessary to have available the data of all the commercial documents relating to the return and cancellation operations relating to the mother commercial documents containing the two-dimensional code.
