The Decision of AADE brings dates on cash registers interface with POS payment terminals in Greece

The deadline set for the interconnection of cash registers with POS payment terminals by the AADE is approaching, and everything is converging on the estimate that within 2023 the system will operate throughout the economy, which will limit tax evasion and at the same time broaden the tax base.

Based on the decision of the head of AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis, the technical requirements and the upgrade deadlines for the approximately 300,000 Tax Cash Registers (FTM) and ADIME (Autonomous Fiscal Processing Units) in operation are now determined.

As provided by the mentioned tax authority’s representative,

  • For those businesses with a turnover of up to 100,000 euros, the completion date of the upgrade is now set for June 30, 2023.
  • while those businesses whose turnover exceeds 100,000 euros have until July 31, 2023, to upgrade their devices.

The main goal and pursuit remain for 2023 to be a benchmark year, where all businesses operating in Greece use the more advanced tax electronic mechanisms in their businesses. Based on the above-mentioned decision of the AADE, these deadlines also cover the start of the transmission of fiscal data in real time to the AADE system
