Under these regulations, retailers must prominently display the final price of goods and services, including additional charges and taxes, both in physical stores and on online platforms. The guidelines ensure that prices are clear, understandable, and presented in Norwegian Krone (NOK), discouraging deceptive tactics. Retailers must also accurately display discounts and promotions, providing transparent information on terms and conditions. Non-compliance may result in fines or the suspension of business operations.

Furthermore, all retailers must display the unit price of products, which is the price per kilogram, liter, meter, or piece. The unit price must be clearly visible and placed next to the selling price. The unit price must also be displayed in the same font size and color as the selling price. These rules apply to all types of products, except for those that are sold by number or weight without packaging, such as fruits and vegetables. The rules also do not apply to products that are sold in bulk or by volume, such as gasoline and diesel.

These measures enhance consumer empowerment and trust while encouraging healthy competition in the retail industry.
