In 2023, certain rules about exporting data in an XML file have been introduced, but the latest update states that as of January 1, 2027, cash registers must comply with the Swedish Tax Agency's regulation on requirements for cash registers (SKVFS 2021:17). That means that if a taxpayer’s cash register has a so-called journal memory, it must be able to produce registrations in the XML format.
