Portugal: VAT Updates

Between March and May 2025, Portugal’s Tax and Customs Authority released new VAT rules and clarifications, with key changes taking effect from July 1, 2025. These include simplified VAT filing procedures, a €650,000 turnover threshold for monthly returns in 2026, and the adoption of the EU SME Scheme for cross-border businesses.
