Brazil: IBS Pilot Program Deadline Extended in Rio Grande do Sul

Brazil’s GST Management Committee has extended the deadline to join the RTC-IBS Pilot Program in Rio Grande do Sul to 15 February 2026, giving selected companies more time to complete the required formalities. All eligibility criteria and program conditions remain unchanged, with only the enrollment deadline revised.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Management Committee has extended the deadline to complete the formal steps to join the RTC-IBS Pilot Program.

This pilot program is part of Brazil’s consumption tax reform.

New deadline to join: February 15, 2026.

This replaces the earlier deadline mentioned in the Invitation Letters.

Companies that were selected now have extra time to complete their enrollment.

The extension was granted to:

-       Allow selected companies to properly complete the formal process,

-       Ensure the pilot program remains effective, representative, and diverse.

The committee confirmed that all selection criteria set out in Ordinance No. 085/2025-RE were followed.

Who received the invitation?

-       Invitation Letters were sent by email,

-       The recipient list was based on data provided by SEFAZ/RS,

-       If a company believes it was selected but did not receive the email, it should contact: pilotoibs@sefaz.rs.gov.br.

If a company was invited but has not yet completed enrollment, it must:

-       Sign the Terms of Agreement,

-       Submit the signed document by February 15, 2026,

-       Include any other information requested in the Invitation Letter,

-       Send everything to: pilotoibs@sefaz.rs.gov.br.

Important note:

-       All other rules and conditions remain unchanged,

-       Only the deadline has been extended.
