North Macedonia: E-Invoice Pilot Phase Shows Strong Progress

The Public Revenue Office reports strong progress in the pilot phase of the national e-Invoice system, with 148 companies registered, 57 onboarded, and 15 actively submitting invoices, confirming the platform’s stability and readiness. Authorities encourage broader participation to support integration, improve functionality, and ensure a smooth nationwide rollout aimed at reducing costs, simplifying processes, and increasing transaction transparency

The Tax Authority (Public Revenue Office) announced that the pilot phase of the national e-Invoice system is progressing successfully and delivering measurable results, demonstrating that businesses are actively preparing for the new digital invoicing model.

So far, 148 companies have registered for testing, with 57 successfully onboarded. Among them, 15 companies are actively using the system, submitting 1,115 e-invoices, of which 396 have been successfully verified through the platform. These results confirm the system’s functionality and stability in real operating conditions.

Companies participating in testing gain:

-       early technical readiness before mandatory implementation,

-       direct integration support,

-       the opportunity to improve system features through feedback,

-       smoother ERP and IT system adaptation.

The Tax Authority encourages IT companies, ERP providers, and businesses with their own IT solutions to join the pilot phase, test the API interface, and help refine the system.

Active participation will help ensure a stable, secure, and practical e-invoicing solution that meets business needs.

The e-Invoice system aims to:

-       simplify business processes,

-       reduce administrative costs,

-       increase transparency in economic transactions.

Authorities emphasize that early participation will support a smoother national rollout and further system improvements before full implementation.
