The GTA issued a press release warning taxpayers about fraudulent emails and text messages impersonating the Authority. These messages contain suspicious links claiming tax refunds or requesting personal information updates.

The GTA confirmed these communications are not from the Authority. It never requests confidential numbers, personal data, or sensitive information via email or SMS.

All tax services and procedures are conducted exclusively through the official Dhareeba platform and approved channels.

Taxpayers are urged to:

  • Avoid interacting with such messages
  • Not open links or attachments
  • Verify any correspondence only through official GTA channels

The Authority also encouraged reporting fraudulent attempts to the relevant authorities to protect information security and transaction safety.
