Portugal has announced a short extension for reporting April invoice data, following the impact of public holidays at the start of May 2026.
As May 1 is a public holiday, followed by a weekend, businesses effectively had only two working days within the first five days of the month to meet reporting obligations. In response, the government has introduced a grace period to ease compliance.

Under the decision, the submission of invoice data required under Decree-Law No. 198/2012 for April 2026 can be completed up to eight days into May without any penalties or additional charges.
