France has confirmed that the launch of mandatory e-invoicing and e-reporting on September 1, 2026, remains on schedule, despite ongoing rumors of delays. Businesses are still being told to prepare for 1 September 2026, with the next few months seen as decisive. No formal postponement is in place, but a de facto soft launch is emerging: a grace period could be applied until 1 January 2027 — and potentially longer — for businesses demonstrating good-faith compliance efforts, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Out of 127 registered Accredited Platforms (PAs), only 17 are actively exchanging e‑invoices, while 46 are participating in the pilot. This low participation rate has raised concerns, with fewer than 90 days left before go‑live. The DGFiP has stated there will be no automatic sanctions at launch. Penalties will be softened for businesses making genuine efforts to comply.
