The new treatment of the vouchers in Slovakia

From 1.10.2019 the amendments previously added to the VAT Act have come into force with the new treatment of the vouchers. The amendment was a necessity since the EU directive on the treatment of the vouchers wasn’t introduced before. The new rules apply only to the vouchers that can be exchanged for goods or services (gift cards, book vouchers, etc.). These types of vouchers can be both in paper or electronic form. There are single-purpose vouchers and multi-purpose vouchers. More details are as follows.
