The Czech government indicated the possibility of keeping accounting and tax records in euros from January 1, 2024, which should allow companies to pay taxes in euros. This might represent one of the first steps toward the Czech Republic introducing the euro as the official currency.

As explained by the Radek Špicar, Vice President at the Confederation of Industry and Transport in the Czech Republic and former Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Prague, the „eurisation“of the Czech companies is advancing. According to him, more and more Czech companies are taking bank loans in euros and trading with each other in European currency.
Should the Czech government make this step, it would be a symbolic step for a potential smoother process of adopting and introducing the euro.
