Greek AADE announced that the "closed type" cash registers are coming - when will they be implemented and how will they work? In the pursuit of the IAPR for the fight against tax evasion enters the cash "closed type". This is an important action included in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2.0. As a reminder, in Greece different fiscal device solutions can be used but all need to be approved and have a valid certificate. In the current regulations the certification process includes mandatory approval of fiscal hardware devices before their distribution whereas the POS application certification is not required.

The "closed type" cash registers will include POS, putting a "block" on the VAT evasion, which deprives the state coffers of significant revenues every year.
This development is considered particularly important and completely complementary, with the electronic books (the myDATA) that are already mandatory and the interconnection of cash registers with the electronic systems of AADE.
As foreseen in the relevant schedule , the project will be completed by the end of June 2024 , while also the development of infrastructure and applications for the monitoring of cash register transactions and the support of the control mechanism is foreseen.
The preparation of specifications for the interconnection of cash registers with POS terminals, in order to certify that every POS transaction will be recorded in the cash register and the generated data will be transmitted in real time to AADE is one of the 18 projects of AADE that have joined the Fund Recovery which are presented in the Revised Business Plan of AADE.
