The Eurogroup recommends Croatia's entry into the eurozone

The recommendation proposes that Croatia adopt the euro on 1 January 2023. This is the first step in a process in which the EU Council adopts a legal Act that will allow Croatia to become a member of the eurozone and use the single currency, the euro, from next year.
This recommendation will be adopted by a qualified majority of eurozone countries at the Ecofin Council meeting on Friday in Luxembourg. The Council will also confirm a letter from the President of the ECOFIN Council to the European Council, while the European Council will discuss this issue at the EU summit on 23 and 24 June in Brussels. At that meeting, ECOFIN is expected to confirm the recommendation of the Eurogroup and the letter from the President of the ECOFIN Council to the European Council.
