The obligation of dual displaying of prices begins on Monday, September 5. Then, all consumer prices on the Croatian market will have to be expressed in euros as well, in addition to kuna. However, large retail chains and numerous restaurants and cafes already issue receipts in both currencies. Some decided to do so even before we got the final exchange rate for converting kuna to euro.

The value of the return fee on the packaging does not have to be declared dually, and all goods in packaging with the value of the return fee in kuna can be sold even after the introduction of the euro until the stock runs out. However, when the value of the return packaging fee is displayed separately on racks or shelves then it must be displayed dually. Instead of 50 lipa, the return fee for a plastic bottle will amount to 7 euro cents.
