Certain steps have been announced to simplify the procedures for assigning TINs and notifying changes to business data by a government decision. By decision of the Governor of the AADE, Mr. George Pitsilis (A.1134/2022), the procedures for the assignment of TIN and changes of business data are simplified, with the intention of more use of digitalization, as follows:

Changes in business data and in-house installation data that are included in the myAADE digital portal (inclusive of Registry and Communication/Changes of Registry data), are submitted from 17.10.2022 onwards exclusively through the myAADE digital portal (myaade.gov.gr). From 01.11.2022 onwards, the statements and supporting documents for any registry procedures that are included in the "My Requests" application of the myAADE digital portal are submitted exclusively through this application.

For the above two cases, relevant statements and requests will no longer be served through a visit to the Tax Office. However, in cases of technical impossibility to submit the request through the above digital services due to malfunction of the information system of the AADE or in cases of procedures that are not integrated into the above digital services, requests are sent by post by registered mail or by courier service or submitted to the competent service in person.

According to the same decision, it is made possible to issue a TIN to a natural person by any tax office regardless of their home address or the home address of their authorized representative. Natural persons, both for the process of issuing a VAT number and for the process of changing their personal data, may make use of the myAADE live service by opting to make a video call. The taxable natural person who chooses the myAADEIive service to obtain a Tax Identification Number or to move his details communicates with the Tax Administration, by appointment, via video call. The conversation is videotaped and the file remains for ten (10) years at the disposal of the Tax Administration, for reasons of proof of identity in case of an audit.
