Stated law stipulates that:
- The price for the unit of measure is the final price in the official currency of the Republic of Croatia, for one kilogram, one liter, one meter, one square meter, or one cubic meter of the product or some other unit of quantity that is generally or commonly used when selling products in the territory of the Republic of Croatia, and which includes taxes and other public duties.
- The retail price is the final price in the official currency of the Republic of Croatia for an individual product, i.e. a specific quantity of products, including taxes and other public charges.
The law further stipulates that the retailers must clearly, visibly, and legibly display the amount of retail price and the price per unit of measure of the product they provide. Apart from these prices, no other prices may be displayed on the product or at the point of sale, except in cases of discounts for individual products or groups of products, or during special forms of sales.
The price for the unit of measure does not need to be displayed if it is the same as the retail price of the product. For bulk products, only the price per unit of measure at the point of sale of the product is highlighted.
The price should be displayed so that it does not damage the product. When advertising that states the retail price of the product, the price for the unit of measure must also be stated.
