There is, however, one specificity regarding cashless payments in Albania that isn’t regularly seen in other fiscalization systems. Namely, the Albanian fiscalization system recognizes the "payment in kind" or "clearing" payment method as one of the types of cashless payments.

Payment in kind or clearing refers to the use of a good or service as payment instead of cash. An example of this would be when a retailer allows their employees to purchase their goods or use their services at reduced prices or for free instead of paying them wages or salaries.

This type of payment method is accepted at the stores, and should a retailer choose to support it, they would need to register it as a used payment method when registering their store.
