Latest VAT changes in Portugal

The Portuguese Parliament has approved the proposal that provides for the application of zero VAT on essential food products. This measure will be in force between April 18 and October 31, 2023.
Content
The reason is inflation and other crises that affect this decision. This means that the zero VAT will also include vegetable drinks and other dietary products intended for enteral nutrition (tube feeding). There are 44 products listed, and they mostly refer to: cereals and derivatives; vegetables; fruits; dairy products; meat; fish; chick eggs; fats and oils; etc.
