What needs to be done and where to apply when the cash register is updated in accordance with the newest technical updates in Lithuania?
Summary
New fiscalization rules are legally in force this year. Recently, the first model of an approved cash register was presented. But the question arises in terms of how and to whom these changes must be reported because cash registers have been changed or updated. It is explained by the State Tax Inspectorate in Lithuania, where it is stated that the manufacturer or his authorized representative must ensure the program of the cash register or a newer version of the program, which has been notified to the Lithuanian Metrology Inspectorate (hereinafter LMI), is installed in the cash register.
Content
Cash register manufacturers and their representatives, after the release of a newer version of the program, evaluate whether it affects financial data and/or financial data security (data integrity, immutability, and availability). Software changes that affect the operation of the cash register and the compliance of the cash register with the technical requirements must be submitted by the manufacturer or his authorized representative to LMI, together with a warranty letter confirming the compliance of the changes with the technical requirements.
