Order 182/2023 establishes specific guidelines to ensure accurate and transparent information regarding the prices of products sold through various channels, including direct and distance sales, where loyalty cards or other consumer loyalty tools are utilized. The aim is to facilitate price comparisons for consumers.

For direct sales, businesses are obligated to inform customers by visibly indicating, either on the product or in its immediate vicinity, the highest price of the item. Even if a reduced price resulting from the use of a loyalty card or other consumer loyalty tools is also displayed, the same font characters, color, size, and other features must be used for all prices.

In the case of online sales, economic operators must provide consumers with the highest price of the product in the same field of vision as the item itself. Again, if a reduced price resulting from loyalty card usage is displayed, all prices should maintain consistency in font characters, color, size, and other features.

Furthermore, the use of loyalty cards or consumer loyalty tools by economic operators without offering tangible benefits to consumers is strictly prohibited. This measure ensures that consumers receive genuine advantages when participating in loyalty programs.

The new regulations aim to enhance transparency and empower consumers by providing them with clear and comprehensive information about product prices. By enforcing consistent pricing display standards, the law seeks to promote fair competition and enable consumers to make informed purchasing decisions.
