France postpones e-invoicing and e-reporting reform

The French government has announced a delay in the implementation of mandatory e-invoicing and e-reporting for businesses, which was originally scheduled to start on July 1, 2024. The new date of the reform will be determined in the Finance Act for 2024 after further consultations with stakeholders.

The decision to postpone the reform comes as a response to the concerns raised by enterprises and software vendors about the short time left for preparation and adaptation to the new requirements. The government stated that it wants to ensure a smooth transition and reduce potential disruptions for businesses, especially in the context of the economic recovery.

The certification process of private partner dematerialization platforms (PDP) will not be interrupted and will continue as previously assumed.
