Online cash registers in Poland are the newest type of cash registers in Poland. They transmit data online to the tax administration with a special module. As a reminder, some taxpayers are obliged to use this type of cash register in Poland, but there are also a large number of taxpayers who are not obliged by the law to use these cash registers. Still, they decided to switch to these cash registers. For online cash registers, taxpayers must provide a permanent connection to the Internet to send data to the Tax Administration's Central Cash Register Repository.

Because they send the sales data online—via internet connection—to the tax administration mostly in a predefined time format, the question arises: what happens if there is no internet and data cannot be sent? The regulations outline what needs to be done in this case. More precisely, for reasons beyond the taxpayer's control, it is not possible to ensure the internet connection temporarily; the taxpayer is obliged to keep sales records and ensure this connection immediately after these reasons cease to exist. If the missing connection is permanently lost, the taxpayer is obliged to keep records of sales and, with the consent of the head of the tax office, ensure this connection at intervals agreed upon with the head of the tax office.

We can conclude that a lack of internet at an online cash register does not mean that sellers or taxpayers have to stop selling. He can continue to issue receipts, and as soon as access to the network is restored, the data will be sent.
