Handling meal vouchers in Romania: What retailers should know?

Meal vouchers are vouchers given to employees by the employer as an individual food allowance, used only to pay for the meal or to purchase food products. Meal vouchers can be issued on paper or in electronic form (e-meal vouchers), depending on the contract between the employer and the issuer of vouchers. Meal vouchers can be used as a payment method in different establishments and shops that sell food, but only in those that have a contract with one of the authorized issuers of meal vouchers in Romania.
