Greek taxis are required to display card payment acceptance stickers.
According to the decision, it is a special sticker that is placed on the glass of the rear right door of the vehicle, and it reads in Greek as well as in English, stating the following:
The driver is obliged:
- To issue a receipt at the end of the journey.
- To accept payment by card.
The customer is NOT obliged to:
- Pay in cash.
- To pay before receiving the legal receipt.
The sticker production is done by AADE, with expenses covered by its budget, and it is made available to the Panhellenic Taxi Federation so that it can see the implementation of the decision in practice.
Taxi vehicles are required to have the label affixed to the vehicle within three weeks of receiving it from the Panhellenic Taxi Federation.
In case of not affixing the marking, i.e., the obligatory sticker, a fine of 1,000 euros is imposed.
