Checking the validity of the fiscal receipt via mobile app in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian National Revenue Agency (NRA) has launched the NRA Mobile app, allowing consumers to verify the authenticity of fiscal receipts by scanning their QR codes. The app provides key details about the purchase and enables users to report discrepancies directly to the NRA, enhancing transparency and tax compliance.

 

The National Revenue Agency in Bulgaria (NRA) has introduced a powerful tool for consumers to ensure the authenticity of their receipts: the NRA Mobile app. Customers can now exercise continuous civil control over merchants' revenue reporting by scanning the QR code on receipts to determine whether they are valid or fake.

With the NRA Mobile app, users can quickly verify the validity of fiscal receipts by scanning the QR code printed on them. The app displays essential details such as the purchase value, date, time, receipt number, and the cash register's fiscal memory. Customers can compare this information with the physical receipt to detect any discrepancies. If a difference is found, the app enables direct contact with the NRA by phone to report the fake receipt. Statistically, in 2024, over 300,000 fiscal receipts were checked using the app, and since the beginning of this year, more than 40,000 receipts have been verified without finding a single fake. Users can also check if the receipt has been received by the revenue agency's servers, which requires a short wait. A green screen on the app confirms the receipt has been successfully received by the NRA.

The NRA Mobile app is available for download on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices.
