Vietnam: Cash Register e-Invoicing to Boost Private Sector
On May 8th, 2025, Region I's Tax Department held a conference to help businesses, self-employed individuals, and regular folks understand how to use electronic invoices (e-invoices) created by cash registers. This move was triggered by Decree No. 70/2025/ND-CP, which goes into effect on June 1st, 2025. The conference was held both in person and online, bringing together tax officials, various teams, tech companies that offer solutions, and almost 200 business representatives. The aim was to spread the word and help taxpayers get ready for the changes coming up in 2025.

With backing from both the political system and the business world, the tax authority is pushing forward to successfully roll out e-invoices. This move is all about making tax administration more efficient and transparent, as well as lightening the load of administrative tasks. A major support campaign reached its height in April 2025, with mobile and software companies, among other providers, teaming up to offer the necessary tech solutions.
At a main conference, e-invoice service providers showcased tech solutions designed to help businesses comply with Decree 70. They also shared insights on tax management and digital transformation. Businesses were quick to commend the tax authorities and service providers for their prompt support, highlighting how valuable it's been in grasping new tax policies, especially when it comes to putting e-invoices into practice. This whole initiative is anticipated to make processes smoother, boost accuracy, and ultimately benefit taxpayers by trimming costs and polishing their reputation.
