The Ministry of Finance of Poland has announced regulatory changes expanding the use of virtual cash registers—software-based cash registers—starting in 2026.

Under the new provisions, companies will now be allowed to use virtual cash registers in vending machines and probably for parking services via mobile apps—two areas previously excluded from this option.

Virtual cash registers function as certified software solutions that replicate the role of physical fiscal devices. They are already used in some predefined sectors.

The Ministry is expected to release detailed guidelines for implementation by the end of 2025.
