Albania’s Tax Administration has begun a one-week information campaign with the goal to formalize the wholesale and retail trade of agricultural and livestock products. The initiative focuses on strengthening food safety and protecting consumers.

Businesses will receive updates through digital channels and direct field visits, reminding them of their legal duty to issue fiscalized invoices under Law No. 87/2019.

These obligations include:

·         Every traded agricultural or livestock product must have a fiscalized purchase invoice identifying the seller and product origin.

·         Sales to consumers must be accompanied by a fiscalized invoice with a clearly stated product name and price.

After the campaign ends, a dedicated Task Force of tax inspectors will conduct on-site checks to ensure compliance.
