Italy announced a postponement of the exclusive usage of the new XML layout

According to the resolution published by the Revenue Agency, the new deadline for the exclusive usage of the new version 7.0 of the XML layout will be April 1, 2021. Although, the taxpayers will have the possibility to continue with the usage of the “older” XML layout version 6.0 until the end of September 2021.

The Revenue Agency has published the resolution by which the deadline for the exclusive usage of the new XML layout (version 7.0) will be modified and postponed.

Due to the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and responding to the proposals and requests from different associations, taking all of this into consideration, the Revenue Agency has decided to postpone the deadline which was already postponed.

The last deadline for the exclusive usage of the new XML layout was fixed on 01/04/2021.

The new deadline will be 01/10/2021.

From that date, all of the taxpayers which are under the fiscalization rules, concerning compulsory usage of the RT devices and issuance of sales documents, must exclusively use for the data transmission of the XML layout version 7.0.

This postponement gives taxpayer more time to acquire RT devices which are upgraded to be in compliance with the specifics of this regulations or to upgrade already bought devices if the adjustment to this regulation is possible.

The taxpayers will have the possibility to continue with the usage of the “older” XML layout version 6.0 until the end of September 2021.

Taxpayers can choose from now on to transmit the sales data to the server of the Revenue Agency in compliance with the XML layout version 6.0 or XML layout version 7.0, until the deadline.

From 01/10/2021, the server of the Tax Authority will accept just the data sent in a new format.
