The EET 2.0 act has been signed by the President; publication in the Collection of Laws is the only step still outstanding.
This is an update to a previously published article on the portal. This news relates to a story previously published on the portal. The original news artice is available HERE
The President signed the act on 17 September 2026, as recorded in the legislative history of parliamentary print 189. The Financial Administration confirmed the signature publicly on 22 September 2026 in a statement headed "Prezident podepsal zákon o EET 2.0. Evidence tržeb startuje 1. ledna 2027", which notes that publication in the Collection of Laws will follow ("Následovat bude vyhlášení ve Sbírce zákonů"). As of 24 September 2026, no law number or publication date has been recorded.
Nothing in the substance of the act changes with the signature. Payments made by means of a virtual asset remain within the recognised forms of contact payment, the exemption for providers of crypto-asset services remains limited to income from those services, and the timetable is unchanged: access through the MOJE daně portal from 1 November 2026, the MOJE eet application from 1 December 2026 and regular operation from 1 January 2027, without a phased roll-out.
What does this mean for businesses?
The remaining step is formal, so the preparation window should now be treated as fixed. Traders accepting cryptocurrency at the point of sale should complete vendor checks and staff preparation against the 1 January 2027 date rather than waiting for publication. The Collection of Laws should still be checked for the law number and the final text as issued.
