General information
The turnover of e-shops in Czechia in the first quarter of 2021 was 16 billion crowns higher than in the same period last year: the increase is higher than 80 percent. The growing popularity of online shopping in Czechia is also helped by the fact that most brick-and-mortar stores are closed during a pandemic. Online shopping is increased mostly when it comes to delivery of food from restaurants, as well as delivery of groceries and daily necessities.
With the growing popularity of online shopping, trends in payment methods are also evolving: Czechs are increasingly paying with an online card, this method is already used by 36 percent of people. On the other hand, the previously popular - cash on delivery - is declining
