Reminder: the deadline for fiscalization in Albania

Albanian General Directorate of Taxes calls on taxpayers who carry out cash sales transactions to respect the deadline for fiscalization, which is September 1, 2021. In order to accept or reject cashless purchases from other taxpayers, from July 1, 2021, the Albanian taxpayers also must be provided with an electronic certificate for fiscalization. Meanwhile, from the same date, they must issue an electronic invoice for cashless sales transactions to other taxpayers.

Albanian Tax administration encourages all taxpayers to fiscalize their sales transactions, even before the legal deadline, which is July 1, 2021 (B2B) and September 1, 2021 (B2C). In addition to electronic certificate, Albanian taxpayers must provide other elements which are required for fiscalization, such as:

 -          Electronic device (computer, laptop, tablet, etc.);

 -          Certified software solution

 -          Software solution maintainer

 -          Simple printer

 -          Uninterrupted internet connection.

The main goal of the project is to facilitate procedures and costs for businesses. Albanian Tax administration will be there to help and encourage small businesses to tax their transactions as well. As far as costs are concerned, the Self-Care portal is free of charge and can be used to issue invoices.

Currently, 4,500 entities have started the process of fiscalization and a total of over 2 Million fiscalized invoices have been issued for B2B cashless transactions.
