Italy announced possible changes in receipt lottery in 2022.

Based on the hypotheses being studied, the news for the receipt lottery is to use the IO app and new technologies for cash registers.

The solution could be to simplify the participation mechanism, which currently provides for the display of the lottery code at the time of payment with electronic money.

 Two proposals are under study:

• use the IO app;
• establish a lottery with instant draws, parallel to the one already in progress.

Maybe in the future, some technical adjustments will be made, in which the user immediately knows whether he has won one of the awards or not.

The first step must be done with the RTs, the telematic recorders of the merchants: the computer software should necessarily be adapted to the new extraction mechanism and software should also be implemented to invoke extraction in real-time.

The Customs Agency says it is willing to work on various solutions, including a simplified way of using the lottery code and also using the IO app.

Currently, the Ministry of Economy is working on a communication campaign for the promotion of the receipt lottery, aimed at both users and merchants.

 It remains to be seen in the future whether there will be changes in this field and how that will affect the sellers -users of Rt devices.
