Austria's Corona aid funds increased to 19 billion euros

Aid funds from COFAG (Covid-19 financing agency) have been increased from 15 to 19 billion euros. Two-thirds of the amount has already been used up. Due to the recent lockdown, this increase in aid is necessary, according to the Austrian Ministry of Finance.

The spokesperson for the Ministry explained that the lockdown has caused higher costs than originally anticipated, and although the aid funds are not exhausted yet increasing the available amount is a major role in preparedness to combat further covid economic impact.
