How to check if a cash register has been connected to ANAF?
Check done by the service engineer
Following the connection operations, the service engineer removes from the cash register a report specifying the internet connection of the cash register, including how the connection to the server was made (GSM or LAN). The data contained in this Z report is transmitted online to ANAF immediately after the generation of the report. According to the legislation, the daily closing report (Z report) resulting from the connection of the cash register to the ANAF server, is attached to the intervention card of the device. This is proof that the cash register has been connected to the server of Tax authorities. Also in the service book, the operations made for connection are noted. Depending on the type of contract that the user has with the service agency ( monthly, quarterly, semi-annual service contract ) the service engineer periodically checks the connection of the cash register with the ANAF server accordingly.
Check that the user himself can perform
Some cash registers are scheduled by the manufacturer to automatically print ( after submitting the Z report ) a short confirmation report specifying that the transmission was successful or print an error message if the data transmission to the server could not be done. Printed messages may differ from one cash register model to another. In the case of equipment that does not automatically generate the confirmation report and there are suspicions that the device does not transmit, users can ask the service unit for a procedure by which they can generate the report confirming the transmission of data to ANAF. After generating the Z report, the user must wait for 1 minute before closing the cash register to give the device time to perform the data transmission to the ANAF server successfully. If at the time of generating the Z report, there is no internet in the location, the cash register will transmit the files as soon as the internet connection is restored.
Check performed by the fiscal authorities (ANAF)
Monthly or whenever it is necessary, ANAF will send to the users a report regarding the status of the cash register (whether it transmits data or not) and regarding errors that have occurred as a result of transmitting data to the server. The report on the errors of transmitting the data must be passed on to the service company with which the user has a contract in order to remedy the reported malfunctions.
