Bulgaria announced reduced rate extended until the end of 2022

Regarding reducing the VAT rate for certain items in Bulgaria, it is announced that the reduced rate of 9% is prolonged till 31 December 2022 and that applies for: 

• Books on a physical carrier or by electronic means;
• Restaurant and catering services, including the supply of food for consumption at home
• Foods suitable for babies and young children
• Baby diapers and similar baby hygienic items
• General touristic service, as well as excursions organized by tour operators and tour agents
• Services for the use of sports facilities.

Bulgaria is to extend its cut in VAT for a range of services heavily affected by the continuing coronavirus crisis.
