To be in compliance with the legislation, it is mandatory to fulfill certain requirements. In general, the software must be able to guarantee the traceability, integrity, and veracity of the files generated and digitally sign them prior to issuing the invoice or receipt. The software installed in the POS will prevent the manipulation, alteration, or deletion of the XML files that have been created. Before the issuance of each invoice, the POS must save an XML file for each transaction. The POS must be able to digitally sign when issuing an invoice, and an encrypted file (file XML) must be created. One of the fields that the XML files created by the guaranteeing software must contain is the identification of the information relating to the software installed in the POS (license, developer entity registered in the authorization register, and software version)—security testing is a part of the certification process.
