As part of this country's goal to modernize and ensure better tax administration, Ghana is currently in the process of introducing a new digitalized fiscalization system known as the E-VAT system. This system aims to digitize and automate the value-added tax (VAT) process for all taxpayers in the country. The implementation of the E-VAT system is scheduled to take place throughout the year, with the majority of taxpayers transitioning to the new system in 2023. The remaining taxpayers will adopt the system in 2024.

The online-software type of fiscalization enables taxpayers to manage their fiscal obligations conveniently and efficiently. It provides them with the flexibility to access and submit tax-related information more efficiently and puts emphasis on the software applications and their compliance with current requirements.
