Without further delays, the project of interconnecting cash registers with POS card payment terminals is proceeding until February 29, 2024. From the competent bodies, the businesses are reminded that February 29 is the deadline for the interconnection of cash registers with POS after the extension given by one month by a joint decision of the Minister of Development, Mr. Kostas Skrekas, and the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Mr. Haris Theocharis. The extension concerns the deadline given to newly obligated persons to purchase the POS without being threatened with a fine of 1,500 euros in case of non-compliance.

In more detail, regarding sanctions in cases of non-compliance, for the period from 01.02.2024 until 01.04.2024, the imposition of a fine on new obligated parties is exceptionally suspended, provided that they are able to prove with official documents that they have purchased card acceptance terminals (POS) until 29.02.2024 and are waiting to be installed in their business.
