The Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has granted a crucial extension to 7,600 businesses facing technical challenges with their fiscal devices (FIM) and  POS-EFT systems. Despite meeting all requirements for interconnection, these businesses encountered insurmountable compatibility issues between their systems. Recognising the dilemma, AADE, led by Governor George Pitsilis, has extended the interconnection deadline to June 10, 2024, allowing businesses to replace their incompatible systems.

This decision ensures that businesses can continue to legally accept card payments by interconnecting their cash registers and payment instruments. AADE has proactively communicated this extension through email and has provided a Readiness Table on its website. This resource allows businesses to identify compatible combinations of cash register systems and POS-EFT terminals, facilitating a smooth transition to compliant systems. The extension reflects AADE's commitment to supporting businesses through this digital transformation while maintaining the integrity of the tax system.
