The fiscalization requirements in Latvia consist of mandatory rules which need to be followed. There are obligations regarding the mandatory use of fiscal devices, where 3 main groups of fiscal devices can be used. The difference is in their architecture, compatibility with the number of sales, and implementation of modern functionalities that are possible with specific types of fiscal devices.

The main fiscal regulations in Latvia are Cabinet Regulation No. 95 of 11 February 2014 “Regulations on the Technical Requirements for Electronic Devices and Equipment of Registration of Taxes and Other Payments”, and Cabinet Regulation No. 96 of 11 February 2014, “Procedure of the Use of Electronic Devices and Equipment of Registration of Taxes and Other Payments”. In these regulations are strictly predefined the fiscalization requirements, fiscal device requirements, fiscal and non-fiscal documents that must be issued, and all other related rules.
