On December 17, 2024, a new version of the EDPClient application (version 1.56.0.15) was released on the eDavki portal. This update introduces important features aimed at enhancing security and user experience.
The main updates are as follows:
- Support for TLS 1.2: The new version includes support for the TLS 1.2 secure connection protocol. Starting in the new year, connections using the older TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols will no longer be permitted. This change is crucial for improving security standards, as TLS 1.2 offers enhanced encryption and protection against various cyber threats.
- Submission of Unsigned XML: The updated EDPClient allows users to submit unsigned XML documents. When submitting these documents, applicants will be uniquely identified, ensuring that their submissions are properly tracked and managed.
Users should be aware that in some cases, the automatic update feature may not work if they are launching an already installed version of EDPClient without administrative rights on their workstation. If this occurs, users will need to manually uninstall the old version of the application and then reinstall it from the eDavki portal to ensure they have the latest updates.
These enhancements reflect a commitment to maintaining high-security standards while also improving the functionality of the EDPClient application for users engaging with Slovenia's tax administration system.
