Fiscal subject related
Altinn has served citizens and businesses as a main digital portal for more than 20 years. The Altinn portal plays a key role in fiscalization, as it is the platform where POS providers submit their declarations of conformity for POS and cash register systems.
Because technology is moving quickly, Altinn is being rebuilt on a new platform with stronger security, modern functions, and easier use.
What will change for users?
- Easier use: Clear design, simpler wording, and mobile-friendly access,
- Better message overview: A new inbox that gathers letters, notifications, and receipts, and shows if messages are read or cases are ongoing,
- Stronger security: Personal data is protected by a modern platform built to withstand digital threats,
- System access and integration: Professional software providers can link their systems directly to Altinn services, giving users safer and more stable integrations without personal logins,
- Open source and co-creation: Public agencies can develop and share solutions faster to meet real needs.
How will the rollout happen?
The changes will be introduced step by step so all agencies’ systems continue to work together. At first, some functions may be missing or look different, but the full picture will appear gradually. New versions will be tested along the way.
This autumn, the first releases include the new inbox and system access. Users will be able to try the new inbox while the old one remains available during the transition. System access will be offered to accounting firms, auditors, and other businesses that connect professional systems to Altinn.
