According to GEO 11/2022, published in the Romanian Official Gazette I, no. 97/31.01.2022. there is an established deadline regarding selling through vending machines in this country.
Until 31 December 2022, economic operators who make deliveries of goods or services through commercial vending machines operating on the basis of card payments, as well as banknote or coin acceptors must equip their commercial vending machines with the fiscal electronic cash registers.

Currently, in Romania, there are over 80,000 vending machines for the distribution of coffee, juices, water, sandwiches or sweets, etc.
The Authorities have stated that this modified deadline became necessary to avoid sanctioning the economic operators who perform deliveries of goods or services through commercial vending machines for non-compliance with the obligation to equip themselves with fiscal electronic cash registers, given that the obligation could not be fulfilled previously for reasons not attributable to them.
