From November 1, 2025, all Greek businesses, including e-shops, must accept IRIS payments, a system that enables instant mobile phone transactions without needing card details. Businesses are not required to replace their POS devices but must upgrade their software to integrate IRIS, which also strengthens tax compliance by linking transactions directly to cash registers.
