General information
The most recent iteration of the UAE-specific Peppol specification, PINT AE v1.0.1, which covers both billing and self-billing use cases, has been made available by OpenPeppol. In accordance with UAE VAT regulations, this version incorporates updated code lists, syntax bindings, and validation rules. These include the requirement to use AED currency and the categorization of transactions as reverse charge, free zone, and e-commerce. Although it is not yet completely in line with the PINT General specification, complete compliance is anticipated by the beginning of 2026.
Under the five-corner model, the specification specifies the format and content of e-invoices that can be shared over the Peppol network. Accredited Service Providers are in charge of document transmission and validation. Ahead of the UAE's required e-invoicing rollout in July 2026, this update is a crucial step in the country's digital tax transformation.
