The rollout of the Veri*factu system has been postponed for another year, according to an announcement following today's Council of Ministers meeting. On 2 December 2025, the Spanish Treasury announced delays to 2027 to the entry into force of Verifactu-fiscalization.

This is a big change for businesses and professionals which are preparing for the fiscalization system. Sources from the Treasury have specified that this extension will be for one year, which means that the new Verifactu system will not be mandatory for professionals and companies until January 1, 2027 if they pay corporate tax, and July 1 for the rest.

The new deadlines for mandatory adoption are now:

  • January 1, 2027: For companies and businesses.

  • July 1, 2027: For individual professionals.

While the government has announced the delay, the new dates are not yet official. They are pending the publication of the Royal Decree in the Official State Gazette (BOE). The original deadlines were January 2026 and July 2026, meaning many businesses now have additional time to implement compliant systems. Experts are closely monitoring the situation and expect the decree to be published shortly
